Organizations and Programs


          Smithfield Library Association
         
This group was formed in 1924, and serves as board of directors for the library.  They  
             promote the library in the community and have been active in providing money for the
             extras that our community has come to appreciate from their library.  Meetings are held
             bimonthly at the library.
            
Friends of the Library
             We are in the beginning stages of forming a "Friends of the Library" group.  If you are 
             interested, or would like to receive more information, please contact us at .
            
Library Offerings
             The Community Room is available for non-profit, public gatherings of a civic, cultural,
             or educational nature.  It is not available for social gatherings.  The room has a
             capacity level of 100 adults.  The rules are available at the library.
            
Volunteer
             The Smithfield Branch accepts volunteers 13 years and older.  If you would like to 
             volunteer, or receive more information about our volunteer program, please contact us.

           Children's Programs
           
2 1/2 year old Story time - weekly, September thru April
              Preschool Story time - weekly, September thru April
              Preschool organizations are offered programming weekly and monthly-Sept. thru April
              After school programs - monthly (K-3rd grade) September thru April
               Summer Reading Program - June thru August
              
Registration is Required For All Story Times
