The Claremont Public Library in Surry County began as a permanently grounded bookmobile, whichd in November of 1980. The bookmobile remained Claremont's library, manned by trusty volunteer members of the Friends of the Library. It wasthree days a week. Then when Claremont decided to relocate Town Hall to the old high school, the former bank/town hall building became available to be used for the library. Our grandng was on November 14, 1998. |
