"What do you love about this library?"  For the month of February Claremont Library children will write their story on a heart.  Hearts will be displayed for everyone to read!

Upcoming Programs

    "The Journey From Slavery To Freedom" presented by
    Joan Tarpley-Robinson.  A 60 minute one woman play
    that dramatizes the stages of slavery with all of the
    destruction encountered by its victims.  This is an
    informative, inspirational, and touching performance
    to detail the struggles of African-Americans.
    Held at the Smithfield Center. This is a FREE program
    sponsored by Isle of Wight County Museum Foundation,
    Isle of Wight/Smithfield/Windsor Chamber of Commerce,
    PD Camp Community College, Smithfield Library
    Association and the Town of Smithfield.
    (This program was cancelled on the 16th due to bad
     weather.  Date will be announced here when it is
     rescheduled)

    The Smithfield Library will offer a Tax Assistance
    Program on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9:15 AM to 2:15 PM.
    Assistance will be on a first come, first
    served basis. Only Federal 1040 and
    1040A will be done.  No State.

    The Friends of the Franklin Library will have a Book
    Sale on Saturday, March 8 from 9 AM to 3 PM at the
    warehouse in Commerce Park behind the Franklin
    Garden Center.  Donations of books for the sale will
    be welcome!
